Cigars Are Handmade
CIGARS ARE HANDMADE
A premium cigar is the result of hundreds of hands-on efforts. Each cigar starts with tobacco leaves harvested from different regions of the world and is rolled, filled, banded and boxed by hand, requiring a great deal of skill and experience to achieve perfection.
The cigarmaker’s primary responsibility is to create the ideal blend of tobacco, which may be infused with herbs, spices, and other elixirs for a variety of flavors. Ideally, the tobacco is fermented to bring out its unique flavor profile and ripen it from raw, bitter to sweet and smokeable.
Tobacco is aged after fermentation to help it rid itself of vegetal, green notes and give it a subtle hint of age. The aging process also helps to dissipate the acidity in the tobacco and further enhance its flavors.
Aged cigars are also more complex in their aromas, as they tend to be less floral and more earthy. They are often more redolent of almond, raisin and orange blossom than their unaged counterparts.
Cigars are a great way to relax and enjoy some time with friends and family. It’s especially a nice treat to enjoy a fine cigar after a long day of work.
While cigars have a number of negative health effects, they can still be enjoyed in moderation and are not as harmful as cigarettes. For smokers to benefit from the pleasure of a quality cigar, they should limit their use to 2 or 3 per day and do not inhale.
